Calling all budding designers, artists, creatives…

Creativity and cuisine come together in the annual extravaganza that is the Edible Fashion Awards. Now into our 13th year, the Awards invite entrants to create an innovative design made from edible food items, imitation food items or food packaging.

The Awards are open to New Zealand residents from the age of five upwards. Whether you are a complete novice or an experienced designer, the Edible Fashion Awards are your chance to dream big and create something unique. The Awards can be entered as an individual or team and we encourage participation from school groups. We are very excited this year to have Keryn Whitney, winner of Edible’s 2017 Supreme Award and eight-time WOW finalist, on board in a dedicated schools liaison role.

This year’s theme is Peace, Love & Diversity and offers entrants the opportunity to draw from a broad range of design inspirations - celebrate your own cultural identity or draw inspiration from another culture; incorporate universal symbols of peace; represent deities, mythological or other characters from famous love stories; be inspired by the flower power movement of the 60’s and 70’s, the pride movement etc. The options are exciting and we encourage you to consider what peace, love and/or diversity means to you and to create boldly and without borders.

There is more than $12,000 in cash prizes to be won in four age group categories:
* Junior Category – Years 1-6
* Intermediate Category – Years 7-8
* Senior Category – Years 9-13 (or up to 17 years if not attending school)
* Adult Category – 18+ years
* Open Categories (all ages), including Jewellery and Accessory, Keep Hastings Beautiful, Avant-garde, People’s Choice and Top Model

Registration, Pre-Judging and the Preliminary Showcase will take place during the day and evening on Friday 15th June at Peak Vision Church, 393 Te Mata Mangateretere Road, Havelock North. Finalists in each category will go through to the Evening Extravaganza Awards event on Saturday 16th June 2018, at the same venue.

To enter, you must complete the online registration form. The deadline to register your entry is Sunday 20th May, 2018, but you may continue to work on your design right up until the event.
